Large organisations are requesting that suppliers of all sizes provide robust carbon reporting to meet sustainability goals. As a result, 37% of SMEs have been asked for their carbon data in the past 12 months, primarily as part of tenders.
In some spaces, this data is now a condition for doing business.
On 24th February, the new UK central digital platform for registering as a supplier to central and local government was launched. This platform is designed to make it easier for SMEs to participate in bidding for public procurements. Bids will be enhanced if the supplier is PPN06/21 compliant and provides a valid carbon reduction report.
